My name is Jono Nelson and I have been a supporter of the New Zealand Spinal Trust for 3 years now.
I am wanting to ride the K2 Cycle challenge which is a 193km a full lap around the beautiful Coromandel.
While doing this Epic challenge I would like to raise money for the New Zealand Spinal Trust.
The race is taking place on the 13th March 2021

Its going to be a nervous week ahead the whole country needs to be in level 1 for the k2 to go ahead. But in true Jono fashion im trying to keep positive and I will come up with a plan B.

Training in the port hills
Yesterday I went training around the bays in the Port Hills of Christchurch. I would like to thank everyone that has donated .

Cranking out the kms …
Epic day in the 103km Gran Fondo official time was 4hr24. I got 287th out of 301 competitors I was the only handcyclist on the course. 4 weeks till the BIG one – the K2.

Someone to watch over me …
Thanks to Evan Clulee for driving my car and keeping me safe on the Tekapo journey.

Longest ride yet …
Well the K2 is just around the corner on the 13th March! Training is going very well. Had an awesome day biking to Tekapo – it got very windy biking over Burkes Pass, then the wind changed to south and I had a head wind to the finish. 163km for the day.

Putting in the hard yards training …
Completed my longest cycle ever …. 153 kms on the Gorges Run!
