The NZ Spinal Trust has a close working relationship with the Burwood Academy Trust providing valued research about our spinal cord impaired community (SCI).  This evidence-based research is carried out by academic professionals validating the efficacy of the services we provide.

Inequities

Burwood Academy through their research has highlighted an inequity of funding provision between ACC and non-ACC funded SCI patients. This important piece of work highlights the need for further work to improve outcomes and provisioning for those patients who acquire their impairment through non-injury related incidents (non-ACC funded).
