Milner Mobility joins our Whanau

Wooo hoooo!  We are soooo excited to announce that Milner Mobility are now one of our Keystone Partners!  Following on from an awesome response to Milner’s matching offer on our last appeal, Katie and Darren Milner want to support NZST to do more great stuff. With backing from such amazing partners we can achieve so much in our community – welcome to the NZST whānau Milner Mobility!

Darren has practically grown up in the automotive industry – his Dad Rod started Rod Milner Motors over 40 years ago, and 30-odd years ago started importing adapted vehicles. It’s always been personal for the Milner family – when Rod’s wife Lee needed to use a wheelchair, they learned first hand of the difficulties in buying a suitable vehicle.

With a move to an impressive new premises in Mt Wellington, Auckland, Rod and his son Darren decided to change the name to Milner Mobility to better reflect what they offer and help take a bold step toward the future.

Darren says “We wanted to have everything on show and available without accessibility issues getting in the way. We’ve got everything indoors so the weather’s not an issue; everything’s on one level; the doors are automatic; there’s multiple accessible toilets; and there’s enough room for chairs of all types to move freely around the cars on display. It was really important to us to provide a ‘normal’ car sales experience.”

We are thrilled that Katie and Darren have chosen to support NZST’s future … Let’s see where this road takes us 🙂
